The cast of the Money Heist spin-off Berlin has been announced by Netflix. Filming is scheduled to start in October 2022.
The prequel, which takes place before the events of Money Heist, will include a brand-new gang in addition to Pedro Alonso, who stars in the series as cunning jewel thief Andrés de Fonollosa, AKA Berlin. The eight-episode prequel, which was co-written by Money Heist writers Esther Martnez Lobato and Lex Pina, is a sequel to Money Heist.
Speaking about the idea, Martnez Lobato stated that they “liked the idea of introducing a new gang around Berlin in a completely different emotional state” at a Netflix event in Madrid.
The series will likely go into production in several weeks, with filming taking place in both Madrid and Paris. Money Heist: Korea, a Korean adaptation of the program, debuted earlier this year. It was renewed for a second season in spite of conflicting reviews.

The terminally sick jewel thief Andrés de Fonollosa alias Berlin from the original series will be played by Pedro Alonso in the Money Heist spinoff. The adventures of Berlin before the original series’ timeframe will be the main emphasis of the new season.
The new cast consists of Joel Sánchez as Bruce, Begoa Vargas as Cameron, Julio Pea Fernández as Roi, and Michelle Jenner as electronics specialist Keila. Tristan Ulloa plays Professor Damián.
