Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the show centers on Wednesday Addams as she navigates life at Nevermore Academy while developing her psychic powers. Season 1 focused on her solving a string of murders linked to her parents’ past at the school.
Season 2 placed greater emphasis on the complicated mother-daughter dynamic between Wednesday and Morticia, introduced several new family members, and closed with multiple cliffhangers — including Aunt Ophelia’s mysterious confinement, Enid’s dramatic full-moon wolf transformation, and Isadora Capri’s invitation to Tyler to join the Hydes.
Wednesday Season 2 premiered in 2025 (split into two parts) and quickly climbed to become the fifth most-watched English-language series in Netflix history. It followed the phenomenal success of Season 1, which still holds the record as the platform’s most-watched English-language series of all time.
Gough and Millar serve as creators, writers, showrunners, and executive producers. Tim Burton directs episodes and executive produces the series. MGM Television is the studio.
