Just a month before the official premiere of I Am Not Okay With This first season, the co-creators of the show had already begun writing the script for its second season. Even after getting a green signal for a second season of this show, the officials had to cancel it for numerous reasons. The major reason why the show had to be cancelled was because of COVID-19-related circumstances.

Unfortunately, without any further delay on August 21, 2020, Netflix had to cancel the series after one successful season.

I am Not Okay With This Storyline

The storyline of “I Am Not Okay With This” season 1 follows Sydney, a 17-year-old girl who is dealing with the recent loss of her father and the challenges of high school. Along the way, she discovers that she has the power to move objects with her mind, and she struggles to control this power and keep it hidden from those around her.

As Sydney navigates her newfound abilities, she also deals with various personal and family issues. She has a complicated relationship with her mother, who is struggling to make ends meet and cope with the loss of her husband. Sydney’s best friend, Dina, starts dating a popular jock named Brad, which creates tension in their friendship. Meanwhile, Sydney develops a close friendship with her neighbor, Stanley, who also has feelings for her.

As the season progresses, Sydney’s powers become more difficult to control, and she begins to experience disturbing visions of her deceased father. She also starts to realize that she has feelings for Dina and begins to explore her sexuality.

The season ends with a cliffhanger as Sydney accidentally unleashes a destructive burst of energy that causes a catastrophic event in her town.
